多媒體影音儲存有了新選擇，2002年5月開始由Canon、Fujitsu、Hitachi、Phoenix、Pioneer、SANYO、Sharp及Victor等國際大廠領軍推廣的新一代儲存介面iVDR (Information Versatile Disk for Removable usage)，此一嶄新技術，將成為您在影音儲存應用上的最佳選擇。iVDR Symposium於2006年12月19日於東京舉行一場座談會，由Sanyo、SHARP、HITACHI、HITACHI MAXELL、I-O DATA、TOYOTA MOTOR、SEAGATE等組織成員分享關於iVDR之最新趨勢與應用，身為組織會員之一的ACARD也在會中展示一系列iVDR Chip 儲存解決方案，包括PCI、IDE、USB等不同介面，令與會人士為之驚艷，許多與會人員表示非常期待ACARD產品上市。 什麼是iVDR
iVDR 為Information Versatile Disk for Removable usage的縮寫，一種專門為影音儲存研發而出的新介面，分為兩種主要的形式，可攜式卡帶形式與系統嵌入形式。 卡帶形式的iVDR將家庭用、運輸工具以及可攜式設備之間的資料傳輸變的簡單容易 系統嵌入形式之iVDR 將數位電視的儲存容量變大
兩種形式的iVDR 都有可移動、擴充儲存容量、高速隨機存取功能 以Serial ATA作為傳輸介面，傳輸速度高達1.5 Gbps 使用者透過串接多台甚至可以輕鬆建立Tera級容量的伺服器 採用SAFIA(Security Architecture for IntelligentAttachment)保護音樂、影片等資料內容， 加上SAFIA之iVDR 稱之為iVDR-Secure。
iVDR 應用
iVDR-Secure 將成為保護智慧財產權的標準儲存媒體，可用來儲存音樂、影像、電視節目等，並可同時應用於AV影視設備及電腦，包括家用設備、可攜式設備以及運輸工具上。
